Next Game: Longview will take on the Aledo Bearcats from John E. Kincaide Stadium in the 1st meeting between the two schools, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 10th.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Longview has emphasized an all-hands-on-deck approach throughout the 2022 football season, and is now preparing for Saturday's 2 p.m. Class 5A Division I state semifinal against Aledo at Dallas' John Kincaide Stadium.

Every high school football team has to overcome the annual loss of graduated players. Longview is no different, but it has found a way to develop enough program talent to reload, and maintain a consistent level of success during John King's 19 seasons as head coach.

KING EARNS AVCA REGIONAL AWARD
December 8th, 2022

Longview High School football coach and athletic director John King is one of five high school coaches to earn American Football Coaches Association Regional Power of Influence Award honors.

The award is given jointly by the American Football Coaches Association and the American Football Coaches Foundation. These winners will be honored during the 2023 AFCA Convention, which will be held on January 8-10, 2023.

HISTORIC POWERHOUSES TO CLASH IN STATE SEMIS

Two of the most historic Texas high school football programs ever will clash for the first time Saturday at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas as the Aledo Bearcats (12-2) and the Longview Lobos meet in the Class 5A Division I state semifinals.

Aledo has more state championships (10) than any program in the state, including nine since 2009. The Bearcats are in the postseason for a 27th consecutive season and have advanced each time they've gotten there.

STILL ROLLING: LOBOS MOVE INTO SEMI-FINALS WITH 37-21 WIN
December 3rd, 2022

A battle was expected when the top two teams in Class 5A Division I met at Mesquite Memorial Stadium on Friday night, but No. 1 Longview ultimately pulled away in the second half to earn a 37-21 win against No. 2 Mansfield Timberview in the Region II championship game.

Longview improved its season record to 14-0, and advanced to play either Aledo or Burleson Centennial in the 2 p.m. Class 5A Division I state semifinal at Dallas' John Kincaide Stadium on Saturday Dec. 10, while Mansfield Timberview finished its 2022 campaign with a 13-1 mark.
