LONGVIEW HI WINS FROM HENDERSON
LONGVIEW - Longview High School defeated Henderson High School yesterday at Fair Park before a very small crowd, 13 to 6. The field was set and soft, due to the heavy rains of the last two days. The Longview team was badly crippled for the game as six of her regular players were out of game.

Fred Lawrence and A.D. Fisher were negligible on account of grades. Ermon Barker and Paul Gillespie were out on account of the badly sprained ankles Lucillus Hineman and Perry Meredith played only a few minute on account of old injures sustained in the Gilmer farce of last week. The team has also lost one of its best ends lately as Donald Findley has turned in his suit and quit football on account of bad health.

This makes five games that Longview has won this year with one loss that was taken away from her by a partial headlinesman and one tie to Tyler which Tyler has persistently refused to play.

The game yesterday was featured by the perfect playing of the entire team during the entire second half. C. Morgan and Covin starred in the line while Bill Morgan played one of his best games at center, making only one bad pass the entire game on the muddy field.

Jones played a fine game at quarterback, being hampered at times by the squabbling of some of the other players. He showed fine head work when he crossed up the whole Henderson team with a fluke and ran without opposition for a touchdown. Before that, he had carried the ball around right end for a gain of thirty yards.

Longview plays Mount Pleasant here next Friday and the town is asked to come out and make up for the small crowd of yesterday in which there only 20 paid admissions, making a total gate receipt of $10.10, which did not even pay the expenses of the game.

Bad days of loyalty of the town in football comes and yesterday's crowd showed that very few are interested in the team. You cannot have a good team unless your support them. Come out Friday.

The line-up follows:

Rowan, right end; Pliler, A.T. Covin, R.G. Morgan, center, Morgan, G. McHaney, L.T. Gunn, L.E. Jones, Q. Sutton, F. Remberg and White, halves.

Substitutes: Meredith for Rowan, Hineman for Pliler.

Scoring: Jones one touchdown, Rembert one touchdown, Sutton, one goal after touchdown.
