TEXAS TIGERS WALK ALL OVER VISITORS
TEXARKANA - The Texas Tigers set a new scoring record for the Texas Hi field yesterday when they tamed the Longview Lions by the largest score ever rolled up on a local field, defeating the visitors 107 to 7. The Tigers smashed through the Longview line at will, circled the lads and forward passed for many long gains, and finished the game with only two first team men in the lineup.

The lone Longview touchdown came in the fourth period when quarterback Knox intercepted a Tiger pass, and ran 47 yards for a touchdown. This was the only occasion upon which the visitors threatened the Tiger goal, and only three Tiger first string men were in the game at the time.

The Tigers swept Longview off their feet from the first minute of play, and had them as meek as lambs before the game was five minutes old. The Tigers made fifty-three first downs while Longview only made two, one of which came on a penalty. How completely the Tigers outclassed the visitors may be judged from the 639 yards gained in scrimmage by the Tigers to the fourteen yards counted by Longview.

Practically every man on the Tiger team, including many of the substitutes, played a star game. Davis, the husky Tiger tackle, was called into the backfield on many occasions, and in every case, sloughed through the Longview line for long gains. Prudhomme gave a beautiful exhibition of broken field running, and handling of the forward pass; reeling off many long gains for the Tigers. But to enumerate the Tiger stars would necessitate naming every player. The team played well on both the offense, and the few occasions that they were on defense. They played a remarkably clean game and their fumbles were few.

The Longview team put up a plucky fight, and were in the game until the last minute, but the Tigers played a superior brand of football. The entire Longview backfield worked hard, but their efforts to gain through the Tiger stone wall were futile.

In the first quarter, Longview won the toss and kicked to Williamson, who punted. Longview made two yards and punted 25 yards. Texas High made 62 yards and lost the ball on a fumble.
