LONGVIEW HI TEAM WINS SECOND GAME
LONGVIEW - By a score of 10 to 0 Longview loped off the local gridiron yesterday covered in glory having made the only field goal of the game at a time when the score stood 3 and 0. Henderson High took the beating nicely began doctoring up its wounds and patching up its broken spirits.

The Longview eleven had no idea of winning the game at the start. With five of the best players ill with the dengue fever, little hope was held out by Coach Wilkinson ho himself was just out of bed. The game was coached by J.T. Smith, relieving Wilkinson who was unable to go on the field.

Smith drilled the men with only one thought: Win the game "or else." He walked the lads up and down the field, called them to one side and gave them a talking to that they will remember. One boy bit his lip to keep the tears back. The team was fighting mad by the time the game was called. They were angry with Smith, Wilkinson for not being there, at Henderson High and the rest of the team for being sick.

In this mood, they went on the field an from the start went through Henderson like the breath of Old Kansas sweeping through the Oklahoma plains. McCreary made the brilliant play of the day. It was in the second quarter, Longview carried the ball to the 3 yard line and failed to make the goal. Henderson punted out and Longview carried the ball to the 15 yard line and McCreary kicked the only field goal of the game.

During the entire game, Henderson made only one first down. Longview outplayed the Henderson bunch from the start. Two Henderson men were knocked out but remained in the game.

It was a hard fought game with Longview keeping the ball in Henderson's territory most of the time. Henderson at no time really threatened to score. The nearest they got to Longview's goal was when they recovered a fumbled punt on the Longview 40 yard line.

During the first quarter, Longview carried the ball to Henderson's one yard line but failed to put it across. During the second quarter with the ball on the 25 yard line. McCreary paced a kicked goal for the first score of the game. The half ended with he score of 3 to 0 in Longview's favor.

During the third quarter neither side advanced very much but during the fourth quarter Longview after a series of end runs and bucks by Knox, McCreary and Kelly, put the ball across for the first touchdown. McCreary kicked goal. The game ended with the ball in Longview's possession on Henderson's one yard line.
