LONGVIEW FUMBLES AWAY WIN
TROUP - Two fumbles cost Longview High the game with Troup at Troup yesterday, the Troup team receiving the ball and making two touchdowns. The score was 16 to 19 and Longview High lost its first game of the season after last week's victory over Pittsburg. That was the first game the team had won in two years.

Longview outplayed the Troup team from the beginning but Troup seemed to get all the breaks of the game. Longview made 12 first downs to Troup's three.

During the first period, Longview received the ball and on first down, Kelly passed 40 yards to Sutton who was tackled on Troup's 35 yard line by the safety man.

McCreary gained 5 yards through the left guard. Kelly made the first down off tackle. McHaney made three yards off tackle. Kelly also made three yards off tackle. And McCreary hit the line for the first down.

At this point, the ball was on Troup's 15 yard line. Kelly went around Troup's end for 5 yards. And then McCreary backed the line for a touchdown, but Longview was penalized 5 yards for off sides. McCreary, then got the ball and carried it around Troup's end for a touchdown.

McCreary added the extra point pushing the score to a 7-0 advantage for Longview.

Longview kicked off 15 yards to Troup. The Troup players were downed in their tracks by Jones and Sutton. Troup then tried to punt out but fumbled and was tackled behind their own goal line by Jones and Sutton for the safety. The score at this point was Longview 9, Troup 0.

During the rest of the quarter, the ball seasawed back and forth being in Troup territory most of the time.

The second quarter opened with fierce line backing and end running and the ball in the center of the field in possession of Troup.

Troup made good use of it completed a forward pass for 15 yards past the Longview backs except the safety man. The Troup man sidestepped McCreary playing safety and ran 35 yards for a touchdown.

Troup failed at the extra point, Buck Heyeman breaking up the kick by tackling the Troup center who moved the ball.

Longview received the ball on the kick off and carried it to the center off the field by line buck and end runs. On an end run to the left, Troup broke up Longview's interference and threw McHaney for a 5 yard loss.

McHaney fumbled the ball on tackle. Then Troup half recovered the ball and ran 50 yards for a touchdown. Troup then kicked an extra point. The quarter ended with the score, Longview 9, Troup 13.

During the third quarter, no material gains were made by the Longview boys or the Troup team. The ball stayed in the middle of the field most of the quarter.

The fourth quarter opened with Longview possessing the ball on its own 20 yard line. By playing straight football, the Longview boys carried the ball to the 40 yard line. McHaney, at this point was slightly hurt, by a sever tackle.

Knox tackled a Troup player so fiercely that he was knocked out but both Knox and McHaney remained in the game, but Knox was dazed when signals were called. He became confused and when the left end was called, he ran to the right end.

The ball was carried to the left and Knox was tackled by three Troup players. The ball was fumbled and Troup recovered it and ran it 40 yards for a touchdown.

Troup failed to kick the extra point.

Longview recovered the ball and carried it to the middle of the field. McCreary and Kelly were able to carry the ball to the Troup 5 yard line. Then McCreary carried the ball over the goal line for a touchdown.

McCreary kicked the extra point to pull Longview with three at 19-16. However, it was too late.

The game ended with the ball in Troup's possession on the 15 yard line.
