"In the first quarter Gilmer rushed the ball to Longview's one, but the pig hide was given to Longview by the referred. In the second half, captain Dugger Cook ran 35 yards for a Gilmer tally. During the third period a fist fight began at the sideline and Longview's referee left the field and became engaged in it. Gilmer, wanting to reestablish the game, asked for another official but was refused. The umpired ruled the game 2-0 in Gilmer's favor.
