LOBOS TAKE LAST STIFF DRILL FOR COYOTE GO
LONGVIEW - Yesterday was the first day of the Christmas holidays for most of the boys in high school here but it was just the last day of rough work for the Longview Lobos, who meet the Wichita Falls Coyotes in the championship game Saturday in the Dallas Cotton Bowl. The Wolves here breezed through a lengthy drill as they readied for the important tilt.

Coaches P.E. Shotwell and Buck Osburn announced last night that the boys all were in good shape, except that Bill Pouncey, left end, and Ray Cantrell, blocking halfback, still were slowed up a little from bruises suffered in the Conroe game. They will start, however.

All week Shotwell has been experimenting with several defenses designed to stop the strong Coyotes' attack. He said last night that he probably would not decide what type he would use to stop the Lobos' "prairie cousins" until Saturday.

The Lobos will take a light work out here again today and will not leave for Dallas until Saturday morning. They will arrive in Dallas by bus before noon and be quarter at the Baker hotel. The will remain in Dallas until Sunday.

Meanwhile all the 2,200 ducats fort the game had been sold and 200 more were to be placed on sale at Tom's Cigar Stand here this morning at 8 a.m. They are good seats on the 30-yard line on the west side. They are reserved seats and will go at $1 each. Unsold tickets will be taken off sale this afternoon at 5 o'clock and returned to Dallas.
