JAMES HILL IS BIG GUN IN LOCAL ATTACK IN 7-0 VICTORY
LONGVIEW - Led by James Hill, the Longview Loboes continued their winning streak Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Henderson Tigers, 7 to 0, before a large holiday crowd on the Loboe athletic field. An attack early in the second period account doff the only touchdown when Paul Painter crashed over from the three-yard stripe for a counter.

Outplaying their Rusk county rivals in every phase of the game the locals were unable to put over another touchdown although the majority of the scrap was staged down in the visitors' territory. The game ended with the Loboes inside the 10-yard mark trying desperately to push over another marker.

The Loboes passed up numerous opportunities to score within the 23-yard line when passes failed to connect.

The highly touted Henderson aerial attack failed to function as expected and the major it of the overhead tosses either were grounded of fell into the hands of the Loboes. Paul Painter and James Hill snaring opposition passes and returning them.

Longview's lone touchdown came in the second period when a poor punt out of bounds gave the Loboes possession of the leather on the 34-yard line. James Hill crashed through right tackle for ten yards and a first down. Painter passed to Holloway who carried the ball to the four-yard mark, from which point Painter crossed on a line buck.

Henderson's backs found the local line unyielding and only one first down was scored through it. The only Tiger carrier to make any headway was Little, fullback, who three times in succession plunged his way for gains in the third quarter before battering himself into exhaustion against the strong Longview line.

The Longview backfield worked considerably better than in previous games and the inference showed improvement, especially for James Hill's runs off right tackle. On three different occasions triple passes were executed without a bobble, the play going from Painter to Wendell Harper to Hill.

Coach Woodman sent in several members of his reserve squad late in the game. Ralph Creed got back into his first game since the Tyler tilt when he suffered an injured ankle.

Numerous penalties were imposed on the two teams, Longview drawing nearly a hundred yards, with three 15-yard assessments being made. For the most, however, offsides was the chief offense.

Capt. Wendell Harper consistently outputted his Henderson rival, the local kicker averaging around the 40-yard mark on his boots.

Longview's next opponent is the Jacksonville eleven here on Nov. 20.
