LOBOES SNATCH KILGORE AERIALS TO GAIN 19-6 TILT
LONGVIEW - Taking advantage of the breaks and outplaying their opponents in a hard fought and sensational football game, the Longview Loboes defeated the Kilgore Bulldogs Friday afternoon by the score of 19 to 6. A crowd estimated at 2,500, by far the season's largest, saw the game.

Two intercepted passes proved the margin of victory for the Loboes. Early in the first period Billy Lanagan snared one after the ball had bounced off Holcomb's hands and sprinted down an open field 50 yards for a touchdown.

Again in the third quarter, Wendel Harper intercepted a Kilgore toss and raced 25 yards for a score.

The last Longview score, which came in the final period, was the brilliantly executed triple pass from Painter to Harper to Lanagan, from the 15-yard ribbon.

Kilgore made good its only threat when a pass, Boker to Holcomb, gave the Bulldogs possession of the ball on the Loboes' 25-yard stripe. Four thrusts at the line by Broker and Harris earned a first down on the 15-yard line whence Broker plunged over fora touchdown.

The game was stubbornly played throughout and five times the Bulldogs held the Loboes within the shadow of the goal posts. Although the major portion of the battle was played deep in Kilgore territory, the passing of Broker was a constant thread and his long punts saved the Bulldogs repeatedly, his boots averaging around 40 yards.

Captain Wendel Harper led the Loboes to victory by playing his best game of the season, but he was closely rivaled by Melton Holloway and James Hill, the latter coming into his own fo the first time this season, ripping off several substantial gains and running perfect interference.

A delegation of approximately 400 Kilgore supporters including the pep squad and the band, attended the game.
