LOBOES WIN DISTRICT
GILMER - Longview today is hailing the conquering heroes.

The Loboes presenting an attack that was not to be stemmed, auspiciously observed Thanksgiving Day by blanking the highly-touted Gilmer Lions to a tune of 12 to 0 before a crowd estimated at around 2,500 - the largest to ever witness a championship game in this district. Of the number, approximately 1,000 were Longview fans.

By trounching the Giants, the Loboes increased their string of straight victories for the season to ten and their number of points to 424 to 2 for their opponents.

It was the second time in four years that the Loboes had won the championship of district 6. They won it on paper in 1924 when Gilmer failed to appear and the game was forfeited.

In the Turkey day classic, the Gilmerites fought desperately. In the first quarter, they moved to the Longview 5-yard line, but this was the only time they threatened. The Loboes registered two touchdowns in the second period to win the game.

Ray made the counter after he received a pass from Ross. A pass that nettered 35 yards from Ross to McCreary, resulted in the second touchdown.

Both teams employed the aerial attack on numerous occasions. Many of the passes failed.

Longview now will play the winner of district 10 for the bi-district championship.
